Daniel Miroslaw, bass baritone

Daniel Mirosław, born in Warsaw, Poland, started singing at the age of 21.

He is a graduate of the Artist Diploma in Opera Studies program at the Juilliard School, where he studied with Edith Wiens. Prior to that, he has studied with Rudolf Piernay at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Leonard Andrzej Mróz and Urszula Kryger at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland. At Juilliard (2014/16), he has appeared as Don Geronio (Il turco in Italia), Collatinus (The Rape of Lucretia) and Der Tod (Der Kaiser von Atlantis). In 2015 he made his Carnegie Hall debut singing Don Fernando (Fidelio) and the bass solo in Beethoven’s Mass in C major. He sang Oroe (Semiramide) in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow with Maestro Alberto Zedda and The National Russian Orchestra. In 2016 he sang the bass solo in Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall. 

In seasons 2016/17 and 2017/18 Daniel was a member of the ensemble in Frankfurt Opera. His roles there included Eustazio (Rinaldo), Gualtiero Raleigh (Roberto Devereux), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Quinault (Adriana Lecouvreur), Panthée (Les Troyens), Colline (La Boheme) and Lothar (Der Sandmann). He also appeared at the Alte Oper Frankfurt to sing the bass solo in Mozart’s Requiem.

In the summer of 2017 he performed at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival, where he sang the roles of Dr. Grenvil (La Traviata) and Truffaldino (Ariadne auf Naxos). In  2018/19 season he sang Melisso (Alcina) at the 42. Internationale Händel Festspiele in Karlsruhe, the title role in Don Giovanni at the Wrocław Opera House in Poland, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) twice at the Warsaw Chamber Opera in Poland, and at the New Generation Festival in Florence, Italy.

In the 2019/20 season in Hannover Daniel sang Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), and a bass solo in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. In Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal he performed a bass solo in Handel’s Messiah. He also had a debut in Zürich Opera singing Graf Lamoral (Arabella).

April 2018 he made his debut in Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile singing the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. He returned to Santiago for his role debut as Mephistopheles (Faust) in 2019, and will make debuts as Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Escamillo (Carmen) in 2021.

In August of 2020 Daniel will have a debut as Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola) at the New Generation Festival in Florence, and in the 2020/21 season as a member of Ensemble Staatstsoper Hannover he will be making his debuts as Escamillo (Carmen), Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) and Kaspar (Der Freischutz), as well performing “Songs and Dances of Death” by Mussorgsky.
